Sushi Bong in Toronto

Prices are cheap. They only accept cash payments. The place is small and they have a very few tables to sit in. We went there around 3pm so its not a rush hour and we managed to sit and eat there. But I think during the rush hour, the place could ne really crowded and its better to just buy and take out the food. The food are nice, i love the tempura and the sushi are great too.

the only good thing with this place is its extremely friendly staff but that's it! sitting area is really bad, you better just order take outs but then their sushi quality is not good at all!! Attached picture is their spicy salmon roll (on the left) with the rainbow roll (on the right), it doesn't even get close to places like Sushi on bloor (offering at the same price)! you can find lots of better sushi places with even cheaper prices! Won't go here anymore...

The best hole in the wall sushi there is in this area. Prices are amazing and friendly service. The fish quality isn't amazing but for what you're paying compared to joints down the street, you can't beat it. My friend and I ate in but definitely the exact opposite of luxury dining....This is for sure a grab-and-go place. Will be back if in the area and want some quick sushi.

The sushi rolls are simple (no sauce drizzled on top) but its really good for the price! This place definitely satisfied my sushi cravings.My favourite was the Spicy Salmon Roll, it had a good fish:rice ratioNote: they don't accept credit card

Favourite takeout sushi! The staff are great and so efficient. We love that the sushi has a bit of a korean flare and flavour to it. Big portions. Unbeatable value.

Very tiny and very busy place. Portions are large but the food quality was not great. Salmon was quite chewy. Definitely better places in the area.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Easily one of the tastiest sushi spots in the city. They have extremely fresh ingredients and it’s SUPER CHEAP. I mean like SUPER CHEAP. Very fresh sushi and very popular place for takeout during covid-19

This is a small sushi joint that's focused on take out rather then sit in. Great portion and good price. The downside is the phone is rarely answered and the line up is long (but that's not really a bad thing considering the quality of food and the customer they get)

This is an institution! The best bang for buck sushi you can buy in the city. The value is incredible because everything is made fresh right before you and they don't skimp out on quality of their ingredients. Dynamite roll is a go to for me here.

Such a great sushi joint. You can get large rolls and portions for relatively cheap prices. The dynamite roll, and red dragon roll is something I always come back too. Whenever I need a lot of food for a party the large or x-large party plate is more than enough. I will say that because it's a smaller operation there could be delays to order pickups, especially during holiday periods.

Just finished eating here. Amazing price for such big portions of tasty and fresh sushi. I had the special menu's Spider Roll, and it was very tasty. Definately recommend this to try!!

This sushi place is hit or miss. Sometimes the food is fresh and good. Sometimes, they give you stale rice and cold rolls. When it's good, it's 4 stars. When it's bad, it's 2 stars. Averages out to 3 stars.

Delicious affordable sushi! Small shop that's tends to be busy due to being popular in the area. Best to take food to go because of limited seating.I got the Spicy Salmon and Moon River.

Ordered 2 Philadelphia rolls via Ubereats. Lots of cucumber and avocado, VERY LITTLE salmon! Almost nothing. Greedy cheaters! Will never order again and won't recommend to anybody!

Very friendly staff and the sushi portions are large. The quality of sushi I find is really mediocre, a grade better than grocery bought sushi. It will satisfy your sushi cravings, however it is not a place you would go for quality sushi.

One of the best low key, no frills sushi place for a quick bite without sacrificing quality or taste. We ordered the dynamite roll and spicy salmon roll and both were fresh and delicious. It was mostly a takeout place but there were a few spots for dine in customers, with a continuous flow of takeout orders. Would highly recommend!

Similar to a previous reviewer’s post, I got a sliver of salmon in my roll. Like seriously?? This is how cheap you are? They also don’t even give napkins when you order takeout. Cheap Korean-owned sushi takeout trying to scrimp on fish, napkins and charging for debit transactions.

Sushi Bong is a super good place to get take out! The restaurant itself is extremely small so don't ever expect to dine in (I think they have like 2 tables and the amount of people coming in and out in such a small space just definitely does not make it an ideal dining setting). The sushi itself is always extremely fresh and delicious. The portions are enormous and the prices are insanely cheap! Extremely good value for such good quality food. My go-to order is the dynamite and philadelphia rolls and I think they come up to a little over $10.

Good quality, tasty rolls. We ordered the spicy and regular tuna roll and they were delicious. The portion of tuna in the rolls is great for the price. Highly recommend.

Quality and quantity of Sushi Bong has been gradually decreasing in the last year or so. Smaller portions and less fresh. Workers are still kind and service is fast.

Been ordering from them for several years now. Always good quality sushi for a good price. Since they have always been almost all takeout only, the transition during the pandemic has been smooth. Their phone is often busy so try again in a few minutes. The wait time is also slightly longer than usual, but still quick. (Saved ~$20 from calling directly for takeout/pickup as opposed to using ubereats delivery. $50 calling, $72 ubereats)

The staff was amazing and the food was delicious! Our server offered us free samples of their food since it was our first time at the restaurant and make helpful suggestions of what we should get. I had the fish and chips. The portion was huge compared to other places I have been to and it was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend!

OK quality sushi boosted up by their low price point. It's pretty decent, and they're best known for their dynamite rolls. So it's a pretty good place to go around and get big platters of sushi if you're not looking for refined sushi. It's yummy enough and won't break the bank. Definitely NOT a dine-in place, and parking is impossible. Grab-and-go, and you won't be disappointed. Best to call ahead to do a pick-up order!

The sushi is great; the dynamite roll tastes fresh. However, I highly recommend they do some renovations as the location is becoming very worn down.

This restaurant really takes you back in time. What's amazing about this place as a whole is, with minimal space, they make excellent fresh sushi. It's really about the food here! Sushi was great, tasted extremely fresh. Everything is cut and prepared right there and then. So you're able to see the process of it in the back. They really only have 2 tables, but if you choose to wait, worth the experience!

Just wen there for a quick after-work sushi. Not only this was fast, but also delicious. I got the special rolls which gives you three different choices. Price is really great and the quality was awesome. The people are also very friendly there. Didn't expect that great service in this place. Great experience. Will be back.

Takeout Review:Been coming here recently for the past couple of month now. Sushi Bong Special is our go-to because of the price and variety or sushi. Pretty good sushi and the times we’ve been going it’s been pretty fresh. They don’t have call waiting so keep trying the phone lines if you get a busy signal. It’ll get really busy around the 5pm-7:30pm hours on the weekdays and especially on Friday & Saturday. But for the price and being at Yonge & Finch area with grab & go practically. It’s pretty good for what you get. Definitely coming back.

We used to order from here a lot for the last few years. But we have been ripped off! This time there is barely any salmon in the 2 Philadelphia’s we ordered! Barely a sliver! It’s all avo and cucumber... and almost NO cream cheese. What a joke. what a rip off. What’s happened ? new management? WT F!? Such cheap behaviour!!! Won’t be ordering from here ever again if this happens again. Warning everyone, I can’t say this place is amazing anymore. So sad. I looked through the reviews and someone else had the exact same issue a month ago! What’s going on at this place!! Warning warning warning! Mind you, we love sushi and eat at a few amazing places, sadly this won’t be on the list anymore.

This is my favourite place to get take-out sushi in the whole city. I honestly don't know how this place survives because it is the most affordable a la carte sushi place you can go to that's the most worth your buck. Portions and rolls are huge, service is fast. Not typically done as a sit-in restaurant - they only have about 4 seats available in their tiny shop so I always do take-out. The quality is quite high, given the price you're paying. Would recommend to anyone!

Honestly, this is the best sushi I’ve had outside of Vancouver! Their green dragon roll, spicy tuna roll, salmon with Avacado roll, and sushi (salmon or tuna on rice) are on point. I commute from Yonge and eglinton just to get my sushi from here.

First time trying during Covid-19, they only take debit or cash, it’s best to call ahead for your order. The sushi price point is good, rolls are huge, I just found the rice to be a bit hard. We ordered the Bong Special, Dynamite Rolls & Beef Rolls. Perfect for 3 people!

Ordered the Sushi Bong Special (5 pcs of nigiri, 8 pcs of California roll, and 4 pcs of salmon roll - see picture), a dynamite roll, and a spider roll. All the sushi was tasty and fresh.

The sushi in this place is exceptional! Portions are huge, it tastes amazing and food is kinda fresh. The only reason I give 4 stars is that I notice they charge 0.15 cents for every debit and they don’t accept credit credit. Its a cheap move. You are better than that Sushi bong. Please don’t do this!!I also wish they offer a menu with pictures.
